Unenthused

He is uncertain of things. He is tired a lot, depressed, really. It may explain why he hasn't tried to say hello before now, even though he is sure she might hear him.

He thinks about his sister, Rachel, chosen sister, not like his blood one, Mary, who he cant truly share any of this with...

Rachel understands a lot of things others don't, loss and pain and many more things. Rachel is... someone he trusts.

He is uncertain about a lot of things. Life, love, hope, dreams, and more...

He is unsure about his place in this new age of magic... but others keep telling him he has one, he is important... and he keeps looking them askance.

He is Captain Marvel, and Billy Batson, and The Wizard, the Keeper of the Rock, and the Last Bastion of Ninth Age Magic, Ordered Magic, left in the cosmos. He wears so many hats, somedays he feels that he will topple under the weight of it all...

He is unsure and uncertain and unenthused...

But he is sure of his sister.

So sometimes, he just thinks of her,and her flame and he smiles.

Sisters, Brothers, And Other Things

Billy is working on small magics and spectacularly failing to maintain his concentration when he finally cancels them all and makes his way to his room. He lays down and sighs.

Nothing is working.

He uses the magic to one more make the room one where he can be just Billy and speaks the magic word. shivering as he settles there.

His mind is still trying to deal with everything and it is making him tired and grumpy and unfocused. Nothing is working right. Nothing is right... and everything feels off...

Then he opens his mind and considers calling Steph,. but it is too soon... and he isn't ready, so instead, he concentrates and calls for a sister, one he hopes will be listening.
