OOm: Doooooomed. Doomed, I say...
Oct. 11th, 2006 04:30 pmBilly was worried.
Billy was hunting
Billy was not-quite frantic.
Billy was also trying to not show this in feelings or facial expressions.
Billy was screwed.
Billy had LOST the ring. THE RING. The one he was going to use, someday, maybe soon, maybe not, to ask her(Cassie) to marry him.
And he had lost it.
Somehow.
When he had realized he had lost it, he had felt a sharp blast of panic, but covered it up with spilling his coffee. Since then he was trying to keep a lid on his emotions and search and find it and hopefully not let her know and ohgod

OOM: Realizations
Oct. 4th, 2006 04:58 amBilly woke with a start, eyes wide. The night was calm and dark, and it was nearly morning. He stretched, then rose, padding off for morning ablutions. It had been a few days since he and Cassie had returned to Milliways, and last night she had stayed in her rooms downstairs.
And it had taken him forever to get to sleep in her absence. He didn't like it when she was gone. It felt wrong, out of place, un...right. He shook his head as he started his shower and stood in the scalding water, thinking of her. They had known each other for barely two months, really, and yet, somehow, his relationship with her was tighter and more secure, more warm and powerful, than anything he had ever known. He loved her, as truly and deeply as he could imagine. He wished she didn't have to go back to the rooms she shared with her mom and Sam and...
Realization hit, almost hard enough to make his knees buckle, and he stared at the shower wall for a long time, before finishing and walking out toweling and dressing.
He knew what he had to do, what he wanted to do, and when he saw her today... when he saw her, then he would ask.
With a grin, he headed to the computer and typed her a brief Email, then headed downstairs for breakfast.

Day Four - A Date, For Real!
Sep. 12th, 2006 12:58 amSunday Evening, sometime before Sunset...
Billy is nervous. Very, very nervous.
In just a little while, Cassie would be picking him up for their very first, real, honest to goodness, date.
He bounces a little.
His room was spotless and he was wearing a suit he had picked up on a jaunt out to the local tailor. It had taken several hours, but it was done and he was nervous and bouncy and.... yeah.
He smiles, and thinks of her face when he asked her, the day before. He loves her so much and cant wait to do this with her.

Day Three - Saturday Sunshine -
Sep. 10th, 2006 08:48 pmBilly yawns as he stretches and opens his eyes. Where? Oh, yeah!
He rolls off the couch and slowly rises, unsteady until he gets his feet.
He staggers off to the restroom and washes up, finding some clothes to throw on, before peeking in the bedroom and grinning. Cassie is still out and gone.
She must have really needed it...
He walks to the kitchenette and eyes it, then nods and manfully picks up the phone. Breakfast time!

Day Two - Friday -
Sep. 10th, 2006 12:38 pmBilly wandered most of the day, checking out the procedure for registering for classes, how to set up a bank account at the local big bank, paying for and biking around on a bicycle, and seeing the area.
He enjoyed himself, being outside and being around the new town. This part of L.A. seemed nice, not like the areas he had visited in his own world before.
The small college and the people around it seemed to be very bouncy, and yet laid back. Definitely his kind of people. By the time he had managed to find a book store, a comic shop, and a top of the line computer store, he was very happy.
And most of the day had flown, so he settled down on the green somewhere on campus, pulled out his laptop and attached the booster he had acquired and logged in and sent an IM to Cassie, hoping she was on.
wzrdoftherock: Hey, Cassie! You around?

The Afternoon of the 29th:
Billy settles on a stool at the Bar, bouncing a little. He is nervous and excited and worried and hopeful and... he cant wait to go. He grins and eyes the stairs, then turns and watches the crowd. he had a large backpack, red, of course, packed with clothes and a few other things, and his laptop case packed as well. He also has a large roll of... well, a whole lot of money, packed into the bottom of his bag, just in case.
He bounces and Bar materializes a glass of soda, obviously somehow seeing that he needs more caffeine. He grins at her and waits for Cassie, bouncing.

August 28th, Early morning:
Sunshine wakens Billy, sending his body screaming at him. He finds himself curled into a tight ball with muscles yelling at him and brain logey.
He slowly, slowly uncurls as he looks around, then sags back as he remembers that Cassie went home last night.
The thought fulls him with a kind of black depression and he feels the tears surging up again and savagely smashes them down again. Damnit, he can do his own thing! He isn't dependent, He isn't!
He struggles to his feet and staggers to the bathroom, running a shower so hot it almost scalds him. And in the shower, he cries, letting out pain and fear and frustration and anger, and letting it all out. He feels it pour out of him and feels himself empty, like ... like... he doesn't know what like... so he stops thinking.
He finally emerges, feeling empty, and the place is quiet like a tomb, until, as he is walking toward his bureau, something sharp sinks into his toes.
He eeeps in a rather undignified manner, and goes down, only to find a bouncy Rena pouncing at him, now that he is all accessible.
He laughs, helplessly, startling the little cat, who races away.
She stares at him from a safe distance for awhile, looking reproachfully at him. When he stops laughing and crying, she slowly approaches and then pounces one of his hands, and he grins, petting her.
It is a few minutes later when he realizes what her presence means, and sits up so fast he startles her again, making her run off with an offended look.
He gets up and peers out of his bedroom, and feels something like being hit by a train, as he sees her, laying on the sofa. Tears hit him again and he dresses quickly.
She is there... he isn't alone.
Somehow, the day seems a lot brighter now.

OOM: One Night Alone
Sep. 2nd, 2006 08:49 amBilly sat on the bed for a long time.
He had messed up somehow and wasn't sure how, or where, or what he had done.
Something had been off and all he could think was that he had done something.
He shuddered at even the thought of screwing this up, tears leaking out of his eyes. He loved her, more than he had known and more than he could think. He loved Cassie and he didn't know what to do. At all.
He moved,. slowly, feeling old and tired, to the window, and lay there, for a long time, watching the stars.
But that didn't help, didn't make him feel any better.
He just felt more alone.
So, finally, shaking and feeling sick, he walked to his bed and just slipped into it, turning face and mind away from everything. he curled up and tried to think, or not think, or something...
...and sometime in the night, he finally slept...

Sep. 1st, 2006 11:14 amAfter running, and walking, and working out some, Billy felt a little more put together. And he also felt more in control. He and Cassie had gotten close to going over the edge and he didnt want to do that yet.
He sighs as he heads back in and trudges up the stairs.
He loves her so much. Some days feel like eternities with her, but some passed by fast!
As he lets himself into his rooms, he smiles.
"Cassie, you around?"

The rooms are quiet and warm. The front area, dimmed, shows only Billy, sleeping, under blankets, on the large sofa. His breathing is quiet and slow as he dreams of Cassie and other things pleasant.
The bedroom, also, quiet, contains a large bed, and in it, tucked away, is a Cassie, sleeping deeply.
The sun, a very thin strip escaping the curtains of the large window, creeps to the bed and then illuminates her face.
But all is silent.
