Billy lays in his bed, fully dressed now, wondering over he events of the last... well, he isn't sure how long, but a few days at least.
After his return to Milliways, and 'talking' with Garion for awhile and thinking hard enough to make him feel tired again, Billy had made his way back to his old room, with a new key from Bar. There he had discovered that his things were still there, and took a long shower before laying down. He slept for what felt like a very long time, dreaming deeply, having flashes of a redheaded woman who seemed vaguely familiar, but when he woke up, he wondered.
He wonders again now, was it Rachel he saw in his fall, really, and did he see her again in his dreams, or was that merely a figment of his imagination? He had seen so much on his fall, and it had been so very far beyond even his imagination before. Demons and angels and strange worlds beyond anything he had known before. He shakes his head. No way to know right now, none at all. What he does know is that he is afraid. Terrified, really.
How he will get home, what will be there when he does, and what happened back there, all run through his mind. The Spectre somehow stopped him, transformed him. No one had ever done that. No one had ever had that kind of power. And it had been so easy for the Spectre. Not even a moment's hesitation. Billy shudders. It was...horrifying.
And then... his throat. He feels it now and shudders again. It feels weird. almost as if... as if there isn't anything there. Could his voice box be just gone? And if so...how would be ever transform and protect his friends and family, his entire world, again?
He shudders and begins to cry in the darkness, afraid and uncertain and alone, so very alone.
